BTW - HP

Last night at 1 a.m. I finished the last Harry Potter book. I just can't say more now, except the entire series was a great ride and I am casting around looking for some other fiction to start reading. Mom bought her own copy and is chapters behind me so we can't really talk until she finishes. One of my co workers finished it in one day! It was such a relief to talk to her about it without fear of spoiling the story for anyone else.

Oh well, back to my life again.

It felt like the whole world must have stopped this weekend to read the last Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I swear I could hear all the collective pages turning and the stillness of people reading... we were united for a few days with the same thoughts.

Block of the Month

I got them done in time for our monthly guild meeting last night! One of the subjects was about our up coming November retreat and the classes being offered. I am excited and am looking forward to that weekend!

Whew!

I haven't sewed all week! I really wanted to cut some fabric this weekend to make up the Block of the Month for our upcomming guild meeting. Well, didn't really get to it, but did manage to make TWO 4 inch cuts from two different pieced of fabric on Sunday! Whoo-hoo!

I know I *must* finish those blocks this weekend and will have to insist on a bit of time to do it. I am really not complaining at all, I just love having the company. Just no quilting this month.

Wait, I take that back, I've been working on my Timon EPP while watching TV and hanging with the family. Am making great progress on the top. That excites me to no end because I can actually imagine what it will be like to quilt the top now!

What I've been up to

While my folks are here visiting I haven't sewn too much, but have gotten a bit of hand sewing done in the mornings.
Dad and I started putting up crown molding in the living room, not something to be started for the feint of heart, but I am determined to finish, this week sometime. (after all, I did buy the molding nearly two years ago) I found a table and umbrella on sale and it is making a perfect work bench for our sawing.

We like to play our favorite game, Sim City the collectable card game. It was printed in the mid nineties and wasn't as popular as the fantasy collectable card games, but we just love it! Mom has been sewing pot holders for her Christmas craft fairs, they are some of her best sellers. She is currently the only one who has been going into the sewing room this week.

And naturally 4th of July fireworks, but on the 3rd and from the grocery parking lot since it was very crowded. We still had a good show. The neighbors in around my house let of some nice ones too.

They're Here!

My parents arrived yesterday evening (Saturday), just after eight. It is so good to have them here again. We spent the evening light looking at the yard. Naturally showed Mom my quilts in progress that are up on my design wall.

Today we took it easy. Did some more stuff in the yard, played games, had Sunday dinner, and took a Sunday drive! Relaxing....
