Art Journey with a Quilty Voice:
I here Voices. The Voices tell me to cut up Fabric. Good Fabric. Into small pieces. Small interesting pieces.
Then the Voices tell me to put them back together again. In interesting ways.

Mantras and Prayers

This summer I found myself repeating several significant prayers that became more like mantras to help keep my sanity. I also found myself returning back to church after a four year hiatus. Then I learned about the art of the sigil this summer too and see their creation as a way to visually capture the prayers that I've been repeating with a few critical characters that represent phrases from the prayer, which is how it the practice has been defined. I don't see them as magick but more as a sacred prayer that manifests its energy from my heart to flow to the page and from the page back to my lips and up to God. The energy and hope is packaged within each of my hand drawn images:

Faith Grace and Patience (July 29, 2008)
*Faith - to remain walking God's path for me
*Grace - to react to my circumstances with integrity and honor
*Patience - to allow events to unfold as they are meant to

Attitude Confidence and Focus (October 28, 2008)
*Attitude - to be unputdownable
*Confidence - hold my head high, straighten my shoulders, and face the world with a smile
*Focus - what is my purpose, stay on target...
